The Royal Forest of Dean Orchestra: Concert 12th April 2025

Our local orchestra is playing a fantastic programme, nothing difficult or “ modern “ sounding, despite one of the pieces being written in 1990.
Our fabulous first flute player, Matt Mann, is stepping out of the woodwind section to join us as a soloist in Poulenc’s wonderful flute sonata, orchestrated by Lennox Berkeley. This is a wonderful arrangement, not often heard, but incredibly beautiful.
Many of you will know Matt and would have followed his progress. He’s a wonderful player and I urge you to come and listen. There can not be a flautist alive who hasn’t at one stage or another tackled the Poulenc!
Children and students free!
